Enterprising Barnsley DIY PR Seminar – Wednesday
Event on 2013-03-06 09:30:00
Do you need to promote your company and win new business? Wondering why your good news stories never hit the press?
Enterprising Barnsley invites you to attend the DIY PR Seminar event on 6th March 2012 at Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre delivered by Kate Betts of Capital B Media.
Seasoned journalist and PR consultant Kate Betts, of Capital B Media, will show you how you can do your own public relations and gain media coverage for little or no cost. She will explain how you can use the media’s need for stories, for people to comment on stories and their need for pictures to your advantage. She will debunk a lot of PR myths and show how you really can do it yourself with a bit of time and effort.
The seminar is aimed at businesses wanting to raise their profile and enhance their reputation using local and regional radio, TV and newspapers. The tips on offer can also be used elsewhere, such as in the national media, B2B media and the business press.
It will cover how the local media works and how you can use it to your advantage, how to write a press release that will get used and what the media is looking for with pictures.
Kate is a media “insider” with more than 20 years’ experience as a journalist in radio, TV and newspapers. She has worked as a freelance for BBC Radio 4 and taught print and broadcast journalism at the University of Sheffield. She now helps organisations deal with the media, through offering interview technique training and PR consultancy.
THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF TICKETS AVAILABLE – PLEASE REGISTER ON OUR WAITING LIST IF NO TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AND WE WILL INFORM YOU IF ONE BECOMES AVAILABLE. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU OF FUTURE EVENTS TOO.
